I found out when searching ISC positions on IMB’s website to read ”

Unfortunately, the ISC Program job requests are currently not available.”

Perhaps if we as Southern Baptists had a little more notice that things were in that dire of a situation, we would have responded sooner.

Alvin, my parents were driving to Richmond to the IMB in order to begin application for the Master’s program, and were told that just that morning the program had been cut.

I agree. I have always been burdened how we can justify spending multiple millions for buildings that get used very little during the week, while people are setting on ready to go tell others who have never heard and we can’t send them. Maybe they will have to raise support and work outside the SBC. You don’t want it to come to that, but if they are called and we can’t help, GOD is surely bigger than the SBC, the IMB and any other organization! He is able! Maybe it is time for some George Mueller types.

We need a revival! Oh God do it again! Shake us! Bend us! Break us! Fill us! Use us!

This is a great challenge that can not be diminished and which we must faithfully place before the people. But the problem is not with the availability of funds, but with the stewardship of already received funds. On the local, state, and national level there appears to be a focus on buildings and hierarchies rather than on funds actually getting to the field. We must ask ourselves how our priorities are revealed by the way we spend the funds God has already provided.
