Thanks for your thoughts. Moving the margins to the center can be a battle. I pray God gives us grace and peace in the next few years.

I appreciate this post. Great points. I think it fine that we in the SBC first recognize and (hopefully) agree upon before moving forward. If we cannot agree on the problems then there is nothing for which to move forward.

Great words -from one who has felt marginalized most of my ministry career. Small church pastor's - like myself- often feel left out because of the size of our churches. And yet some of the most potent and powerful examples of God's presence are seen in smaller churches. So, from one on the left coast (oops, the west coast), here's another prayer for a God sent, Holy Spirit breathed, Jesus focused resurgence! May our lives shine so brightly that the darkness is overwhelmed!

I totally agree that we are in need of a refocusing on the Gospel but is this the way. It seems to me like the GCR document is full of ideas that we all agree with what it lacks is a plan. There are those who believe that the SBC is doing well and that the decreases are the result of God winnowing out the tares....but the truth is it is in desperate of an overhaul. I'm afraid there will be a lot of hype around the GCR, it will ease our minds and then we will continue as before.
I respect Dr. Hunt and count him as a friend...but where are his ideas...plans for restructuring...plans to deal with the CP issue, with the IMB issue?
