#PrayForNepal

From the CGCS blog, Greg Mathias encourages us all to pray for Nepal and he offers some thoughts on how to pray. Below are his four key things/people to pray for:

Life. As the death toll rises, please pray for the survival of those still trapped and unaccounted for.

Relief. The needs are incredible. Pray that relief will go to the right areas and reach people in time. People need food, water, shelter, medical care.

Christ. Pray that this disaster will lead to many openings for Christ as Nepalese see the love of Christ in real and meaningful ways.

SEBTS. Energy, compassion, and protection. Please pray these things for our SEBTS students and others working in Nepal.

Pray For…

Every week, the Center for Great Commission Studies at Southeastern highlights missionaries for whom we can pray, lifting up to God in Christ their labors and needs and needs in the gospel. As an example, below we have excerpted and linked to Greg Mathias’s recent post requesting prayer for a family serving in Bangladesh.

Today, we’re asking you to pray for a family serving in the southern delta region of Bangladesh amongst the Islamic bengali people. They are currently providing theological training for local pastors and discipling a believer whom they are praying will pastor a church that he’s growing out of an underground Bible study.

“Let our hearts be filled with the assurance that prayer offered in living faith in the living God will bring certain and abundant answer.” – Andrew Murray

Please pray for this family and check the CGCS site often for similar prayer requests.

Pray for Missionaries this Christmas

The Center for Great Commission Studies does an excellent job leading our community in praying for the many missionaries connected to SEBTS. In the post excerpted below, Greg Mathias reminds us to pray for those serving cross culturally now–at Christmas–and throughout the year.

Missions is not a solitary effort. Our men, women, and families depend upon your prayers on behalf of their people and ministries. Each Tuesday you can invest in a missionary through prayer as we highlight their work and needs. Join with the CGCS in this incredible opportunity to touch the nations and to encourage our SEBTS international missionaries.
